December Newsletter '09

Greetings,

This prayerletter will span our trip from the hot and muggy to the cold and snowy - we are excited to share our Christmas celebrations with our families, and our trip home for the holiday season.

A Very Merry Christmas

We actually just finished up with what is our "second" Christmas celebration, as each year we travel up north to Wisconsin on the 25th and to Ohio for New Years for time with family and presents under the tree.

As Christmases in Wisconsin go we had the traditional Flunker Family Fun Day, however unique to this year, we got "snowed-in" and didn't make it down to Grandma's house on Christmas.

The Pfeister Christmas was on New Years and it was a bounty of presents and "good-eats." The cousins had a blast together and everyone had fun laughing and playing games.

We are so thankful for the time we've been given to come home and reconnect with family and friends. We are reminded that the ultimate gift of Christmas came from God and He is our reason for celebrating, both this year and every year!

A Ministry of Joy

We would like to share with you our thanks this holiday season. As I sit here writing this at the end of 2009, I'm thinking back over the blessings and joys from this past year.

When I consider what Emily and I get to do in the Bahamas, I'm humbled. We left one home to come to another, and now our hearts miss our friends back in Eleuthera. What a privilege it is to serve the people we serve and to both teach leaders about a devotion to study God's Word and invest in US teams to spread the Mission of God that others might invest their lives in service to Him.

Update
Well apart from ALL of us getting the wicked flu bug this month, we have had a very special month. I even had time to take pictures of a tranquil Wisconsin Sunrise, and enjoy some quality time with my Dad outdoors (which usually means cutting wood or skinning deer)!

Micah is wearing his brand new hair cut and sporting a new Christmas outfit! He learned tons of new words this month, and is eating really well with a spoon and fork! He is so wonderful, and reminds us of the many blessings the Lord graciously gives.

We are looking forward to the new year and the work that the Lord is going to do in the future both in CMA and our family. We wish you all a Happy New Year and we hope you find time to share with others the love of the Lord and the true reason for JOY this holiday season!
