12.19.09 - The Green Bay Girls Team

One of our summer teams was a group of girls from the UWGB Women's Basketball team. During our time up north we got to drive down to Green Bay and reunite with them.

I was astounded how good they were! Well, I knew they were good, but the girls that came down to Eleuthera are star players. Heather led the team in points and Hannah led in assists.

Kari is the coaches wife (not to be confused with Kari, my sister). And Emily walked over to her during the game and totally surprised her that we were there visiting. Emily has such a great time with her, and it was a reminder again of how much fun this team was while in Eleuthera.

We look forward to seeing the team again when they're in Ohio in a few weeks, however both Katie and Kari won't travel on the away game, so this would be the only time we'd get to see them.

Micah loved the game. He kept saying, "Ball!" as drove to the game because we told him that there would be a ball there. He watched intently during the game, and clapped with Emily. He especially loved watching all the jumping and running, he would jump and scream as he watched.

Then after the game was over, Kari (my sister) took him on the court and he immediately ran from one end to the other, which we subsequently had to take turns chasing him around. He loved finally getting a chance to run around himself.

It was so much fun for us to be reunited with this team. They were one of our favorites from the summer. Its so much fun to get to experience a team on their own "home court." We only ever knew these girls on the hot, sweaty, bug infested construction site - and now we got to see them in their element. Its a blessing to have our worlds meet, and we hope to see them back in Eleuthera again some day!
