Today was such a fun day! We went trick-or-treating tonight in Spanish Wells. Micah was a candy corn! I wrote an article about it on the homepage so I'm not going to write much about it here.
But in other news of the day, I put Micah down for a nap today on our bed, and two minutes late I walked in and he was SITTING UP playing! He sat up all by himself! And today he pulled himself up standing too almost the whole way up! He's such a strong boy!

THe bugs are still here. They're not as bad as a few days ago though. I'm keeping the door taped shut until they're gone!
Today was a pretty good day. I ran some errands, and was supposed to go read at the school, but just as I put Micah down for a nap I realized I was supposed to be there, so I missed it. I got lots of cleaning done today though.
Tonight they had classes and Alicia and some other friends came over while classes were going on. We had a fun time. I like having people over! I also made Halloween cookies today! I was going to make Ryan chocolate chip cookies, but the store didn't have chocolate chips, so they're just cookies! I did buy some icing though to ice them with for Halloween.

Ryan has a fish bone lodged in his throat! I'm worried.....He can't get it out. I'm praying that it comes out on it's own. When they serve fish here they serve it with the head still on, they serve the whole fish, not even skinned. I don't think Ryan will be eating fish for a while.
It's cold here! It's funny because all the Bahamians are bundled up! The good news is that there's not as many bugs tonight! Maybe the cooler weather killed them! Hooray!
Tonight we had Bible Study. I am studying Romans with the girls. It went well tonight.
Micah is getting closer and closer everyday to crawling! He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth! It's very cute. And, Ryan's going to have to move his crib matress down because he started pulling himself up today! He's just the best little baby!
We took a walk to the post office today, it was closed though. We had a nice walk and it was windy and cooler which was so nice!

Today Micah sneezed.......I was feeding him carrots at the time..........need I say more........
It's been pretty gloomy the last few days. Ryan and I decided that the island doesn't know what to do when it's cloudy. It's kinda depressing actually. There's a phrase people say here, "the sun is always shining in the Bahamas". Well, I suppose that somewhere in the Bahamas the sun in shining, but not here! We ran lots of errands today, and Ryan worked and has classes tonight. And I spent a lot of time sweeping up dead bugs again. I finally got to the point today where I actually taped up the doors and windows because the bugs were coming in the slits. So you can no longer go out our front door.
I am working tonight on a lesson for Bible Study tomorrow. Micah had a rough night last night. And Ryan and I had a rougher night. We couldn't fall asleep forever, and Micah kept waking up, and there were bugs crawling on us all night. It was a long night.

Today we went to church at the first church we ever visited when we came on our first trip here in 2001. It's a bright yellow church, and the pastors of the church had gone through the training at the training center a few years ago. It was great to get to catch up with them. Unfortunatly Micah didn't want to sit still during the service and I ended up outside for most of it trying to feed him and change his very dirty diaper, and calming his fussiness. Ryan said it was a good sermon though. We went for a walk tonight too. The bugs are still here. They are now getting on my nerves a lot more. I am praying that they will go away soon and that the Lord will give me patience until they are gone!

Today we went on an adventure! It's been a long, but great, week with classes every night, and today was our day to rest! We went to the southern part of the island, to lighthouse beach. We didn't swim, we just walked around and took pictures. It was a fun trip.

Today, all day, I cleaned our guest room. I am very excited to have it done! Now I can decorate it when we can buy some things! It was a big project to clean it out. It's been our storage room filled with junk, bugs, and cobwebs wince we've been here. Now we can actually walk in it! Hooray!

Today is Micah's six month birthday! Happy Birthday Micah! He's getting too old too fast! I don't want him to grow up! I tried to take him outside today to take a picture but he wouldn't even look at me. He was too busy looking at the sand and putting any plants that were near him in his mouth!
We got our first package in the mail today! My aunt and uncle sent Micah some much needed clothes. He fits into some of the 18 month clothes! He's mostly wearing 12 months now and a few 9 months still too. He's so big though!

The bugs are driving me craaaazy! Remember the bugs from a couple weeks ago? Well they're back in full force, and I am cleaning up bugs all the time. I sweep up the dead ones, but hundreds of live ones remain crawling all over! They are crawling over Micah as he sleeps. I am going to put his mosquito net up I think. The good thing about them though is that they don't bite or anything.
Fun things about today....I planted two plants, a starfuit and sugar apple (which is nothing like a normal apple, but yummy still!) I hope that they grow, we'll see!
Today Ryan taught classes again and I got to go listen. Alicia watched the kids. It was very funny when little Tristan came into MIcah's room where Micah was playing. Tristan started playing with the baby basketball hoop and Micah started cracking up laughing! It was so funny! He thought Tristan was so funny! That was my favorite part of the day!

Micah had a rough night. He has a snurgle and can't breathe good so he couldn't sleep last night, which meant that we couldn't either. And I was so sad today that one of the few candles that I have broke =( It was my favorite, the one in Micah's room. It was blue and smelled like blueberries. It's sad to not just be able to go to Walmart and buy a new one. There's nothing like Walmart here. I was depressed for a while about my candle...
I did get some scrapbooking done today though and I vacuumed out the our windowsils. Classes started again tonight at the Training Center, so Ryan's there for that. I am praying about what to do for our girls Bible Study tomorrow.....

Today there was no horizon. It's very wierd to look out the window and not be able to tell where the sea ends and the sky begins!
Today we went to church in Spanish Wells. They were having a missions conference at the church we went to, and it was very encouraging! There was a church lunch afterwards and it was a fun time for us to fellowship and meet new people.
Micah has been sleeping well for the last few nights. He just wakes up a few times but goes right to sleepy when we put his pacifier back in his mouth.
Today I walked up and down our hill 9 times! I am worn out! Ryan has been walking with me some which has been fun too! He's been busy getting ready to teach next week. We did go on a mini-date last night though for ice cream! It was very fun!

Today was a pretty good day. I got our closet cleaned, and walked to the school to read to the kids. And Ryan and I went on a walk tonight. Today Micah discovered that he can sit up in his stroller and he didn't have to lean back, and the whole walk back he sat up like a little boy. It was very cute, but sad to think that he's growing so fast. It was like he wasn't a baby in the stroller anymore, he was a little boy sitting all on his own!

Today I walked to the school to read to the kids and I made the mistake of wearing the wrong shoes and I got blisters on my feet! So my feet are killing me now! Ryan preached at a private high school here on the island for their chapel this morning. He said it went well. Micah has been very sleepy today and he went to sleep early tonight. We'll see how that goes.

Today was an okay day, but I felt sad a little too. It's fall back home, but here Fall doesn't exist. There are no pumpkins or scarecrows or colorful leaves or candy corn. I pulled out some of my decorations today and did my best to make our house "fallish" though. My candles melted in our move though. Ryan is not feeling well still.
Ryan says that we need to stop calling Micah Bitty and call him by his real name. It's sad too. He's growing up.

Ryan did feel good today for most of the day. He spent most of the day in bed. He's feeling a little better now. Tonight we were supposed to meet our friends for dinner on the beach and we ended up going to the same beach, but different parts of the beach and we never found each other! But Ryan and I and Micah had fun. Ryan built us a fire and we made dinner and spent the evening on the beach. It was beautiful! We finally met up with our friends on our way home!

Today was a wonderful We had family day and we went to the southern part of the island. We went all the way to Cape Eleuthera. It was a fun drive for us, and we went to see the ocean hole in Rock Sounds too., which was fun. It really just looked like a little lake though. They say there are lots of colorful fish in there, but we didn't go swimming so we didn't see any fish. Micah was veeeery cute today!

Micah slept through the night for the first time last night! Hooray! He ate at 8:00 last night, was in bed by 8:30, and slept until 8:00 in the monring thismorning! Both Ryan and I actually checked on him wondering why he was sleeping so long! He's such a good little boy!
Tonight we babysat for our friends the Foxes. They have two kids, one almost two years, and one just a few months younger than Micah. It was fun for us to see what it would be like with three kids! It went well. Micah and Evelyn, their baby, slept most of the time. After that we went to the softball game in our settlement. It was the championship, but it never really started. It was crazy actually......a long story, but there was a lot of yelling and mad people, we'll just leave it at that.

Today was a great day too! I can't say that I did a whole lot, but I excersized a lot. We live on a hill, and I walked the hill with Micah 5 times, which, let me tell you, is not easy! We also had our friend over for dinner tonight and I went grocery shopping today (I had to fit two weeks groceries into one weeks grocery budget because of our date - it was worth it!)

Today was the best day! After work today Ryan and I went on our first date in three months! We haven't been on a date since we got to Eleuthera. Tonight though our friends babysat Micah and we got to go out. We went to a restraunt here on the island, which was really nice. I had never been to the part of the island where the restraunt was. There were big nice fancy houses, which I am not used to seeing here. And the restraunt was fancy too! Well, fancy for here at least. We spent our next week's grocery money on our date, but it was worth it to finally get to go out by ourselves! The restruant was right on the beach, and most of the time we were the only ones there. The waiter got to know us by name and the food was the best food we've had since we've been here! Ryan is still talking about the guava duff! He thinks it's the best EVER! Guava duff is a dessert here. It's very yummy! And we got Coconut ice cream! I can't tell you what a blessing it was to go out together! I think I took that for granted a lot in the States. There are not a whole lot of options here for date nights, and having a baby here makes it hard to go anywhere here too.
I also read at the school today to the kids. I walked there, which is a long walk in the hot sun. Poor Micah was very hot by the time we got there! You meet so many more people though when you walk places and it gives me good opportunities to talk to people that I would never meet unless I walked through the settlement. There's one man inparticular here who never waves when we pass in a car, but when we walk he's as friendly as can be. A lot of people sit outside a lot during the day by the road so it's fun to talk to them even on a hot day.

Today we took our friends to Gov Harbor, and then Ryan went to work at the center and I attempted to take a nap, which didn't work because Micah didn't want to. I was sooo tired though! Tonight we had Bible study with the girls and it went well! I had planned a lesson, but last minute I felt like I should teach on something else. We talked about 1 Timothy 4:12. I am really enjoying the study and getting to knwo the girls!

So a few days ago Ryan watched Micah while I went to do art in the school with the kids. Aparently, Micah pooped a gigantic poop all up his back and everywhere else! Ryan actually threw his outfit away! (one of my favorite outfits too) And since then Ryan hasn't stopped telling me the poop story! He says it was the biggest poop in the history of poops!
Today was a good day. The Lord answered a huge prayer of ours today, again reminding us of His faithfulness and provision.

Wow! This is my first journal in October! We have been busy, and I have been sick all week until yesterday. I am not sure what was wrong, but we planned on taking me to the doctor if I wasn't better by Friday, and I felt okay Friday for the first day in a week! Praise the Lord!
Micah is sitting all by his self sooo good now! He makes me so proud! I can leave him sitting in his crib or on the floor playing for a while! I still lay pillows around just incase, but he does a great job!
Today was family day! We played Monopoly while Micah was asleep, then we all went to the beach. It's funny how we live so near the beach and this is only the second time we've actually gone to the beach since we moved here! Life is so busy for us! But today we went to Navy beach where the US had a base once, and went to the beach there. It was a really nice day, not too hot, and the water was fun to take Bitty in! And he had a lot of fun playing in the sand for the first time since he can sit up now. We had to go back in the water to wash him off (he did not like that part - he got sand on his face when he tried to eat his sandy toes) It's amazing to me how there are miles and miles of BEAUTIFUL pink sand beaches here and not one person on them! We played frisbee and I looked for sea beans. It was the perfect ending to the week! And tonight we watched Speed Racer together too! I sure am glad that the Lord gives His children days of rest like this!
Oh, and Tuesday I had Bible Study with the girls, and one girl waid she wants to be Christian! It made my not feeling good all worth it! And that same night the Lord put a BEAUTFUL full double rainbow in the sky that went right into the sea! Rainbows always remind me of God's promises! He is so faithful!
