>>ANSWERED PRAYERS

Fall Semester is Finished
Praise the Lord, I made it through another semester. So, far I’ve got two A’s, out of 5 classes.

Scholarship
Praise that I received the second half of my missions scholarship for 2007, every little bit sure helps!

Grandma
My Grandma had a great Christmas with family, and all of the uncles surprised her with a new puppy for Christmas. He's a Yorkie-Shiz-tue; black with little white tufts of fur on his head, paws and belly. She named him "Buddy." My parents said, “We haven't seen Grandma laugh and smile this much for many months!”

School is Going Great
Thankful that though the adjustment from summer school to regular school is not easy, this semester is going great.

Summer School Over
It was a long summer, but I'm sure thankful to have had the time and money to get a little ahead!

Grandpa
Thanks for your prayer at my Grandpa's passing. The funeral services went as good as can be expected, but it was wonderful to be with family. Keep praying for my Grandma.

Root-Canal
Well, I can't say it was enjoyable - but in comparison to my other dentist appointment, this one really was GREAT (and I got a root-canal for goodness sake). All that to say that our new dentist is just the absolute best! In fact I've been back twice since. But we are learning, the cost of dentist's bills - so hopefully we won't have to be "paying" him a visit too often.

Chick-fil-a
Emily has loved working a Chick-fil-a, and she is doing a great job at learning all the ropes of cooperate food service. Plus everyone there is super nice.

2 Years down
The semester is finally over. I struggled through Hebrew, but made it through nonetheless. Please pray for perseverance during the summer as I will be taking Hebrew 3 and 4.

May Eleuthera Trip: Graduation
Our trip was so wonderful. Not only did we make it for the graduation, but we grew our relationships with both the missionaries at the center and our Bahamian friends too. I also learned a valuable lesson about ministry: its always foremost about loving people.

Emily got a summer job
We are so thankful to all of you who have been praying for Emily to be able to get a solid job for the summer. Origionally she said that she wanted to work at Chik-fil-a, but then she tossed around the idea of some other opportunities, and as it turns out in the end she got hired at Chik-fil-a after all. On the one hand it’s a huge blessing, because we can use the extra income, but on the downside they said that in order to hire her for the summer she would have to work once and a while throughout the year. We’re planning on playing it by ear, and seeing if it will work out – either way she’s excited and we’re thankful for the Lord’s provision.

Finally Full-Time Missionaries
Though we're only in the raising support phase, we're extreemly exicted to have been accepted as missionaries to Eleuthera with the Caribbean Ministries Association. Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray for us as we look to the Lord to raise the money we need for support.

Church IMAG and Tech Team
It sure has been a challenge, but what a fun adventure to see our church transformed with video. Thank you for your prayers to see all of it acclomplished.

Finished with Sickness – Finally
I think this has been the longest I can remember being sick ever! It was over a month of runny nose, hacking, constant coughing, and much more yuckiness. But after the courses of antibiotics, probiotics, Viatmin C, ClearLungs, AirBorne, Robitussin DM, TheraFlu, chicken soup, Chinese Acupuncture Therapy (just kidding), and many more such health remedies – we’re finally healthy again… well almost. There’s still a tinge of cough every now and then, but we feel good enough to take it off of our pray request list. Thanks so much for praying for us! Life can be hard, but its even harder when you’re sick!

Our Interview with the CMA Board
We had the most encouraging time meeting with the Caribbean Ministries Association Board. Almost all the board members showed up to ask questions and get to know Emily and I, and how the Lord is leading us to serve in Eleuthera. We're still waiting to hear back from them offically on their decision, but the interview time was very encouraging. We also had safe travel. Thank you for your prayers.

Teaching OT Survey
Teaching the OT course went every well. Somehow I made 60 minutes disappear (at least that’s the way it seemed to me!). We covered 3 principles of Bible Study: Context (Observation), Christian Worldview (Interpretation), and Community (Application). Then I defined 3 key terms and offices in the OT: Priest (kohen), King (melek), and Prophet (nabi). Then 3 major themes in the OT: Covenant Thinking, The Sacrificial System, and Holiness. Finally we covered the chronology of the OT with appropriate books, and briefly (while time allowed) the literary genres for each major category in the OT. I honestly love teaching and if it weren’t for the stresses of Seminary I would love to do it more and more. Thank you for your prayers.

Emily's Job at Canyon Creek
Canyon Creek is not only a school but also a church, and all teachers are required to go to that church, but Emily and work at and serve at FBC Frisco. This week Emily got a new contract on her desk that said she would have to attend church at CC in order to teach next year - which means one of us looses a job. As it turns out, Emily talked with the school director and he has most graciously allowed Emily to work there next year and continue to go to church at FBC Frisco! God is very good to us!
