2.06.10 - All Student Reunion

Tonight was the long awaited All Student Reunion in Eleuthera. Everyone who has ever walked through the doors of the Bible Training Center was invited to participate in a service to kick off the 2010 Alumni Groups.

Our Alumni Groups are our ministry's answer to continuing the process of discipleship with our graduates. After the two years of classes are over we lose a bit of the relationship we enjoyed with our students and we've seen a need to keep accountability and continuing education as a priority.

However, this concept must be owned by the alumni themselves. So tonight that was the main subject. We talked about the purpose of discipleship, the necessity of practical involvement and we grounded our strategy for effective groups in sustainability and active participation.

The night was just a lot of fun too. Its so wonderful to get everyone together again. The 2009 grads claim they're class is the BEST, then the 04 grads stood up and complained and everyone had a fun time kidding around with which class is really the BEST. Then at the end of the night we had some giveaways - it was really fun.

I must say that I was most impressed to have an entire table of our current students who drove up all the way from Rock Sound! I couldn't believe the turn out. All of our students are dear to my heart, but to see the sacrifice and joy of participation from my current class means more than I can write.

Overall we have more than 80% of our graduates in attendance and each settlement has outlined their leaders and calendar dates for meeting for the whole year. We're trusting that this Alumni Reunion serves as the spark-plug to kick off our groups for 2010 and on!
