11.08.09 - Freeport Graduation

Today was our Freeport graduation ceremony. For the past 2 years we've had courses going on on the island of Grand Bahama, but we've only recently had staff on the field as Brad and Alicia Fox just moved here.

Brad and his father-in-law Terry are finishing up the last course with the students and this Sunday we celebrated CMA's 5th graduation! This however was the first time we celebrated a graduation in an actual church service. This current batch of graduates are unique in that they are all from the same church. Thus, it made sense for us to hold the service in their church.

The service was simply wonderful. Each time we celebrate a graduation it is such a blessing to us as a staff. To hear the testimony of what the classes have meant to our students is the best encouragement for why we do what we do.

Dave Hawkins preached a message to the church titled "Finishing Well." The point being that even though the students are finished with the classes they are not finished! Paul and Brad handed out the certificates and gave greetings and words of encouragement to the graduates and I brought the prayer for the graduates.

After the ceremony we all gathered back at the classroom and had a large Bahamian reception with barbecued chicken, macaroni, and lots of Alicia's delicious coffee-cake.

It was so special to part of the ceremony with these graduates. They were extremely thankful to CMA and all gave testimony to the quality of the teaching and benefit of studying God's Word.

Days like today are when you say, "God has really blessed us."
