4.12.09 - Happy Easter

What a special Easter it was this Sunday. Not only did we get hidden Easter baskets from mom, but Kari was here with us for Easter, and it was Micah's first Easter!

We were going to go to the sunrise service on the island, but time slipped away and we had to go to the regular service. The pastor of course preached on the resurrection, but he made note of how women were the first at the tomb, and that women are generally the only ones involved in church these days.

Church was especially fun because we got to dress Micah up in his Easter outfit. He looked so sharp and by the end of church he had old lady lipstick all over his cheeks!

But before church we got to search for the Easter basket that Grandma Flunker hid before she left. It seriously took us like 15 minutes to find it, but we finally did, and then Emily got to show Micah all the fun treasures that he could play with.

After church Emily and Kari went snorkeling while Micah and I took naps. Then Emily cooked a great dinner with pork chops.

We celebrate with the universal church the resurrection of our Lord, and we joyfully declare "He lives!" What a fantastic day to celebrate knowing that though we are perishing, we will experience a resurrection just a Christ did. Our God lives! This is our great "hope" as Christians - 1 Pe 1:3.
