9.24.09 - New School in Rock Sound

We've been praying about it for months, we spoke in churches, handed out letters, and hosted a "Come and See" Seminar - but now finally class in Rock Sound is in session!

This new class has been so exciting, and God has truly answered our prayers. The response and turn out for class was even beyond what I had hoped for. On the first night we had 17 students come out, then the next night 3 more, then more the next and the next! By the end we had 25 applications in our hands, and a steady class size of 21.

Rock Sound is one of the largest settlements on Eleuthera, but it is located some 40+ south of the Training Center. We would never see students make the drive up to us for classes, so we've decided to go down to them. Just tonight one of the students told me, when she thinks about the drive we have to make each night it encourages her "to make the extra effort and come out to class on time."

We meet in the Primary School's 6th Grade classroom. Each night we have to drive down and setup 6 tables and 20+ chairs, teaching materials, projector and computer, and recording equipment. Then at the end of each night, we pack everything up again and store it for the next day.

What a blessing it has been to see the enthusiastic response of these Pastors and Church Leaders. Through their attendance and interaction, you can see how excited they are about the Word of God. I don't know of any who have received formal Bible education, so they are so eager to just "soak-up" the training.

I'm most looking forward to getting to know these individuals better. By the end of an entire 2 year course, we grow to be close friends, and I can't wait to see how the Lord is going to knit our lives together through the careful study of His Word and the fellowship of these fantastic believers!

We thank God for the privilege of serving with CMA and being part of this work of bringing Theological Training and Education to those who cannot otherwise receive it.
