12.12.08 - Church Ministry Course

Our final course of this calendar year was Church Ministry, Administration and Education taught by Dave Thompson. Dave has been instrumental in the development and vision for the Bible Training Center here on Eleuthera, and although he has been involved in the ministry for 21 years, (leading teams, doing construction, working with the churches), this is his first time teaching a class.

Dave brings years of experience, both from being a pastor and from working with Bahamians, to the classroom. This gave him the ability to relate with our students instantly, and his presentation of the material was very effective since he understands the culture and knows the distinctives within the churches that need greater attention.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Dave. We can honestly credit the transformation in our lives through our partnership with CMA and the Bible Training Center to his obedience years ago when the Lord gave him the vision to see our school built. We are here today because he was submissive to the Lord way back in the 1980's.

For Dave the past 2 weeks have brought him full circle in his involvement with the ministry here. From the initial groundbreaking of the very building we are in, to today - sitting in front of the classroom to see the ministry blossom into a Spirit-filled training ministry that is blessing the pastors and church leaders on this island.
