October Newsletter '12

Greetings,

The Fall is the start of so many wonderful things, football, the school year, and seasonal change is almost in the air (even if its still hot hot hot here). This past month we saw the beginning of our new Bible College and the start of another year at Windermere High. However, one of the biggest blessings came to us this past month in the form of a new car!

______________

The Lord Provides

We had been down to one vehicle for months and with the breadth of our involvement on the island it was become a logistical burden. However, the funds for a new vehicle are simply out of our budget so if another car was going to parked at our house, it would have to be provided by God.

In what has been one of the most cooperative forms of God's provision that I've ever witnessed, God answered our prayers by having people from 7 different churches come forward to help provide us our new van.

For us, in a time where there seemed to be "no way," God made a way. We humbly thank all those who sacrificed to help us with the new car and we praise God for His unwavering provision.

Windermere Bible College

In what has been a period of much planning, our school has finally branched out to what some of our founding missionaries envisioned: having adult Bible classes available for pastors and church leaders.

The program is designed to with two specific intentions: #1 to produce accountability in Bible Training and #2 to offer a curriculum that is specifically intended to be replicated in local churches to help churches train their own leaders.

Our new Bible College is fully accredited with partnerships in the US and we are extending it as a major commitment to our ministry and time here on the island. I love teaching the Bible and I am excited to see us put tools in the hands of local leaders to empower them towards taking the next step in developing and growing disciples into disciple-makers.

Update

Apart from Micah and I getting sick this past week, everyone has been great. School is up and charging along, we've got a great new batch of students and behavioral issues are definitely better than last year. Micah started his first day of school (officially, not counting preschool), and he is having a great time.

Emily's newest creation is trying to make home-made "cake-pops" (like you can get at Starbucks), but maybe I shouldn't say any more about how they turned out… still a sore subject in our house! She is doing great teaching and just loves her new students.

I'm staying busy with preaching and teaching and more teaching. The campus has its challenges and we're still seeing God provide for the school each week, sometimes even daily! I'm presently working on finishing our communication to all our summer teams, and I'll probably have a write up this month on the website concerning my reflections over the whole summer.

Prayers and Praises

Praise for God's provision! For those donors who came through when we needed it most and for those anonymous gifts that reveal God's confirmation on our lives and ministry
Praise for the start of our new school and our new students
Praise for the joy of serving God where He has led us, and the many relationships we've been given along the way

Pray for our students and that they would choose to yield their lives to Christ sooner rather than later
Pray for our Bible College and our new students, that they would adjust to their responsibilities in becoming students again
Pray for some logistical challenges we are having with our vehicles for the school and travel in the near future
