June Newsletter '10

Greetings,

Well summer is officially here and the summer team season is in full swing. This edition of our prayerletter includes a look at the few back to back teams we've had in June and a brief update from life and ministry.

Teams, Teams, Teams

This is our fullest month of teams, and with one right after another it feels like a never ending missions trip. But it is such a joy to serve with the people who come down on these summer trips.

We spent a week pouring concrete with a team from Roswell. They are a repeat team, and they are highly invested in supporting the Training Center. Next we had a mostly youth team from Cornerstone Church where they built and prepped the roof on our new ministry cistern.

Now we're finishing up a fantastic week with my home church First Baptist Frisco. This is their first time to Eleuthera and it has been such a blessing to have them here - feels like home. They've been working diligently on the roof for the local clinic in our settlement and hosting a "rocking" VBS. Look for more pictures and articles coming next month on FBC Frisco.

Mid-Year Update
June has been the month of the good and the bad. The bad first; well its really not all that bad - but on 3 occasions this month both of our vehicles have been down, seems to be the month for sensors to break! Amazing how such a little part can cripple a vehicle.

Now the good news - this month I wad privileged to perform my first wedding ceremony! It was very last minute, but the service was small and intimate and outdoors and on the beach, and it was so much fun.

Along with teams this summer, I've been working on recruiting new students for our upcoming class in James Cistern starting in September. Each month I get to meet with our graduates and each time they're enthusiastic about all the people they've been talking to about class - I will keep trusting the Lord to provide the exact students He wants to join this next class.

Emily and Micah are doing great. Micah went through a learning spree of new words. Each one still has that adorable baby-inflection "twuck," "mwor peeze," etc. We are planning a trip back to Frisco with the team when they leave, and we are really looking forward to going home.

The ministry continues to be blessed. This month Mike and Shannan Fastzkie moved down to Eleuthera for good to serve over the mission-team ministry. And last night I met with the community pastors and we planned a "Fishin'-Mission Fellowship" with all the local church leaders. It should be fun. Keep praying that our training ministry would lead the pastors and churches to a deeper dependence on God's Word, as well as the skills to study to "show themselves approved," (2 Ti 2:15).
