May Newsletter '08

Greetings,

This past month has got to be one of the fullest yet! With a birthday, graduation, and trip to Eleuthera, but our most exciting news yet has to be another wonderful month with baby Micah.

Graduations

Well the popular news for students in May is graduations. Personally it has been a long four years working through the rigors of seminary, and yet from another perspective, the time has absolutely flown by. This past May my parents came down to Dallas to both see their son graduate and see their baby grandson for the first time. DTS does a fantastic job of preparing students for ministry, and although this year will see many transitions, I’m most thankful to the Lord for giving me the ability to study under such wonderful professors at such an influential school.

After the pomp and ceremony our attention turned to the 3rd Graduation Class from our Bible Training Institute under CMA on the island of Spanish Wells. I’m privileged to have been given the chance to attend all 3 of our graduations, and they are a particularly encouraging time as you get to hear all the wonderful testimonies from the students. Additionally, our friend Matt got to come to Eleuthera with me, which was another fantastic blessing as we got to go to the classes together, graduation, and even played some good old Bahamian basketball.

May With Micah

We are daily blessed, humbled, and overjoyed with our little blessing. He is beginning to learn how to smile, and just yesterday he was 40 days old and he laughed for the first time. No doubt we’re getting our share of late nights, middle of the night crying, and early mornings – but it is all more than worth it. I seriously can be in the worst mood, and just a little smile from Micah just melts my heart.

We’ve taken probably more pictures of him than anything else this year, so in our second installment of web pictures you can checkout our new gallery of baby pictures HERE.

Update
Well, other than a bit sleep deprived, Emily and I have been very blessed this month. I’ve had a few people ask about an update on my heart, and so far the doctors think that regular checkups are in order before really making a conclusive treatment/diagnosis. You can pray about another ultrasound I’ll have this next month in June.

Many of you have received calls and support packets from us and we wanted to let you know that we’ve still got about a quarter of our support left to raise. While we cherish any support you can give us, what we really need is folks who can commit to supporting us monthly, even if it’s as little as $10-15 dollars a month. If you got a message on your answering machine, you can probably expect to hear from us again soon. Thank you very much for all your support thus far – we’re almost there!.
