December Newsletter '07

Greetings,

You just got to love December! We had a trip up north to be with family and some great meetings with church families this month. I think you’ll agree that one of the best parts of celebrating the birth of Christ is doing so with family.

Christmas Time

We traded in the warm Dallas holidays for a snow white Christmas up north. During our time off from work and school, Emily and I flew up to Ohio to spend some time with Emily’s family until Christmas Day. Then we drove up to Wisconsin for Christmas dinner at Grandma’s and the highly anticipated and ever-memorable Flunker Family Fun Day and football game.

We spent the rest of our time getting to see old friends up north in Florence, along with some time cutting wood and going ice fishing. On New Years Day we headed back to Ohio to have another Christmas with Emily’s family and then it was finally back to reality and Texas. Our Christmas was the best ever, and spending time with our families was extremely special.

Church Support

We are thrilled to be working in ministry, and one of the greatest blessings is to see how the Lord continually blesses us and provides for our needs. Over Christmas break, we were able to sit down with Emily’s home church to talk about missions support. Additionally, I got to preach at my home church and we also were privileged to share our ministry goals with that congregation as well. We have such wonderful friends and church families to support and encourage us, and it reveals how each of us can play a role in the mission of God.

Update
Well, we are almost ready to begin raising support. Already we have had many people come forward and express their desire to worship God through the ministry of CMA. Our close friends Paul and Lisa Voss have rejoined CMA and are now helping to lead the ministry, and this is just an exciting time to be preparing for missionary work.

Emily’s belly is getting bigger and you can feel the baby kick regularly. She had 3 awesome baby showers over break, and we’re so grateful to everyone who so generously gave baby gifts – we don’t even know where we’re going to keep everything!

Stay tuned for next month too as I will be getting ordained for full time ministry and my parents will be coming down to Dallas again. There’s just so much to look forward to – thank you for all of your prayers and support!
