November Newsletter '07

Greetings,

Another great month! It’s hard to believe that November is already done, in fact we’re already a weekend into December! You’ll find some exciting news below about: the baby, break and a banquet – thanks for reading!

Thanksgiving Break

November is one of my favorite months being in seminary. That’s mainly because we get a 2 week recess in the middle of the semester for catching up on reading and celebrating Thanksgiving with family. This year we had Emily’s parents fly down and spend Thanksgiving with us. We had a great time with them, sightseeing around Dallas, playing games in our apartment, and eating out more than I think I ever have.

On Thanksgiving morning, Don, Karolyn and Emily and I all watched the traditional Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and then we spent the next 6 hours getting dinner ready. It was such a good meal: turkey, dressing, corn, potatoes, gravy, and a couple of pies. Needless to say we all need to exercise after a meal like that, and Emily and I are just now finishing up the leftovers! We’re so thankful that Don and Karolyn got to come and spend this time with us – we just cherish family and love seeing them.

FBC Frisco's Missions Banquet

With each passing month we get closer and closer to finishing up school and heading to the mission field. This month held a unique opportunity for us to present our mission goals with our church as we were the main speakers for our ’07 Missions Banquet. Our church continues to branch out in its dedication to missions and becoming a missional church, and we look forward to how a partnership with FBC can be instrumental in giving us a sending body of support and encouragement. We were able to show everyone pictures and video of the ministry of CMA, and share our conviction to provide Biblical education and pastoral training to the church leaders of the Caribbean. The banquet was another successful step in mobilizing the people of God to reach the nations for Christ.

Emily and I both wanted a girl, be we secretly hoped it would be a boy! There is a whole new level of excitement when you find out what you’re having! We’re halfway there – keep us in your prayers as the adventure is only beginning!
