October Newsletter '07

Greetings,

October has been an amazing month. This month has perhaps been the most encouraging month yet in our time with CMA. There has been more good news than I’ll be able to mention in this prayerletter, but some of what you’ll find below is 2 trips: one for preparation and one for rest, and conference and a concert.

Freeport

emandbridgetWe are happy to announce that we are officially committing to going to Freeport when the time comes for us to head to the Caribbean. CMA is looking towards the future for expansion of our ministry, and the Lord has been leading the staff to both begin classes on the island of Grand Bahama along with sending full time missionaries there.

So, the past weekend we made a trip to the city of Freeport to look into all the logistics for living conditions, expenses, the ministry landscape, and general familiarization with the island. Although we feel that it will be an adjustment from what we were preparing for in Eleuthera, we are very excited about CMA’s expansion to another location with the initiation of another Training Center.

You can see pictures of our trip and read more about our time in Freeport HERE.

Come and Rest - and fish a little too

Ahhh… the peaceful sound of a fishing lure plopping in the water, this was the anthem of our last small group retreat earlier this month. Just as midterms were barring down upon us and the tension of life was approaching its breaking point, we found the freedom of our great friend’s Michael and Amy Turner’s lake cabin. You can bet I got up early, and you can bet I did some serious fishing.

Update
Well like I mentioned earlier, this month has just been fantastic. We had a meeting our church’s mission team, and although nothing is “official” yet, we felt that it was a wonderful time for us to share our calling and being imagining how we can partner with our church in God’s mission for mankind. Also our leadership team with CMA has been working hard this month, setting the groundwork for some very exciting developments. And if that wasn’t enough, I’ve been continuing my conversation with seminaries for partnering with CMA in accreditation for our training schools.

On top of all that we had our awesome trip to Freeport and a Bluegrass Festival and a Leadership Conference on the issue of Christianity and the Media. If you can’t tell – we just had the best month of the year – and right in the middle of a semester, who would’a thought! I could go on writing pages and pages, but I’ll leave it up to you to check more if you want:

Prayers and Praises
Praise that for such a great month!
Praise for safety in traveling and a healthy pregnancy
Praise for how we’re seeing our ministry goals realized – we’re so thankful for all those mission minded friends at FBC Frisco.

Please pray for our commitment to going to Freeport: the checklist is long and so far everything is on track
Keep praying for our little developing baby (stay tuned for next month’s prayerletter – we’ll find out if it’s a boy or a girl!!!)
Just say a prayer of thankfulness with us for how God absolutely continually neverfailingly provides for us – and we are so thankful for YOU!

Thank you for keeping up with us and our progress in ministry. We so value your prayers and support, and we would ask you to take a moment and pray for our journey and how you can play a part. To find out more CLICK HERE.
