Ryan Flunker's Background

I began life deep in the north woods of Wisconsin; growing up in a loving family where hard work was valued along with family and fun. My sister and I would constantly be fighting and arguing but we were always the best of friends. My parents taught me their most valued lessons: how to chop wood, hook a worm, skin a deer, change the oil, eat healthy, listen to your body, learn to be sensitive, and love the Lord. I couldn’t have ever asked for a better family.

I headed off to college at Cedarville University and pursued a degree in Physics. After a long semester of calc 3 it became apparent that I may need a change in academic direction. Having always felt a strong calling to ministry I began and finished a BA in World Missions, thus to be the beginning of a life of ministry.

I came to Eleuthera my second year of college on a short terms missions trip. The year previous I had traveled on a missions trip to Mexico and there in the middle of Mexico’s largest city I overlooked miles of God’s creation, much of which was headed straight towards an existence without Him – in that moment I devoted my life to missions. After my first introduction to Eleuthera I spent the next 3 months as a summer intern, and then the same thing the next year, and the year after that. Day by day I found the ministry at EBTC to fit me better than I could have imagined, and that brings us up to date with how I was captured by the mission of the Training Center.
